A special Chinese themed school lunch was made to accompany our Chinese New Year celebrations!
The children enjoyed a choice of rice, noodles, spring rolls and sweet and sour!
Continuing our Chinese New Year celebrations, the Outreach Team from the Oriental Museum in Durham, came in to school to work with Nursery, Reception and Year children. Stories, craft and drama made their visit to school a really fun and informative day.
As part of the school’s Chinese New Year celebrations, Sharks and Dolphins classes visited the Oriental Museum in Durham.
Led by the resident Education Team, the children were able to see and touch many of the Museum’s artefacts, learned the story of the Chinese Zodiac, made crafts connected with the Year of the Rat and did the Dragon Dance around the Museum.
KS1 children sang a variety of songs for parents, carers and parishioners at the Church of Christ the King. Short readings telling the Christmas story were given by Year 2 children. The service was led by Rev. Edward Gunn.
Here are some photos from the junior pupils’ Christmas concerts at Church on Tuesday . Thanks to all who came along to watch.
Here is the last newsletter of 2019 ! Merry Christmas everyone !
As part of their English lesson about rhyming poetry, Dolphins class collaborated to write this fantastic poem. We hope you enjoy it!
T’was the night before Christmas and outside there’s snow.
The moon was shining down on the ground below.
In the cosy living room, there are presents under the tree.
I wonder if there’s any for me?
I like it when the twinkling lights shine bright.
They look like white stars in the dark night.
On the prickly Christmas tree there’s a golden star.
Then I quietly go to the kitchen to get a special chocolate cookie from the jar.
Santa might like a glass of icy, cold beer
And he might even share it with his eight reindeer!
With his red, fluffy hat and his face so jolly
And his nose as red as the berries on the holly.
Zooming from the North Pole on his magical sleigh
Filled with toys for Christmas Day!
Year 2 delighted parents and carers with a rousing performance of Jesus’ Christmas Party! Great singing, and loud voices made it a fantastic show!
Children from Year 1 performed the traditional poem, ‘T’was the night before Christmas’, but with lots of singing and dancing!
