It was a special afternoon for Year 6 children when they came back together for a socially distanced opportunity to say farewell to their friends and teachers . They all enjoyed time talking to their friends who they possibly hadn’t seen for months, enjoyed some pizza and pop , some lively dancing ( Lindy Hop or Haka ? Who could tell ?!) and even a special Year 6 quiz which had everyone laughing. It was lovely to see so many smiles and hear the laughter around the yard. We’re so proud of our Year 6 stars and wish you all the best of luck in your new schools. We will really miss you !
History will remember, when the world stopped, and the flights stayed on the ground!!

The latest letter from Mrs Glass on the end of term and changes for September’s return to school can be found here:
Year 6 will be having a leavers event in school on the last day of term. Details are in the letter below .
School will close to ALL pupils ( including for those of key workers and in vulnerable groups) on Wednesday 15th July 2020. This will give two days for staff training and for preparing classrooms for re-opening to pupils in September.
Pupils already attending in the priority year groups ( N, R , Y1, Y6) and those of key workers can attend that week on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday instead of their usual days.
For those children who haven’t been able to attend school this term, we look forward to welcoming you back in September ! We await detailed guidance from Government on what this will look like, hopefully this week , but will keep you updated. Keep checking back here and our Bowburn Primary School Facebook page for latest news.
In the meantime, staff will continue to post activities for home learning in the Our Classes page of the website up to the end of term.
End of year reports have been completed by staff for all children in Reception to Year 6 and will be emailed to parents/carers before the end of term.
A number of parents and children have asked about who their child’s teacher will be from September. We are currently finalising staffing for next term this week , so I will update everyone with this information in the next week or so.
School will be closed over the Summer Holidays and will reopen on Wednesday 2nd September 2020.
Thank you for your continued support, stay safe.
Pupils who have already been attending school from the priority year groups are being offered an extra day for the next 3 weeks. From next week (beginning 29th June) pupils already attending in nursery, reception, year 1 and year 6 can also attend on WEDNESDAYS for the next 2 weeks, should they wish to do so.
Weeks commencing 29.6.20 and 6.7.20.
Year 1: Monday , Tuesday, Wednesday.
Nursery and Year 6 :Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Key worker ‘bubbles’ in both buildings remain unchanged and pupils should attend on the days already arranged.
Week commencing 13.7.20: (last week of term ) ALL pupils including those of key workers to attend on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday ONLY , as school will be closed to all pupils on Thursday and Friday to enable preparation of the buildings ready for September.
