If your child is diagnosed with COVID-19 during the school holidays it is very important that you provide information about who they have had contact with, both in school and out of school, with the NHS Test and Trace Service.
Your child should not return to school following the holidays if they develop symptoms or are in the self-isolation period.

School reopens on TUESDAY 3rd November 2020 . ( NB: Monday 2nd November is a staff training day )
Unfortunately, due to a lack of demand we are unable to restart breakfast clubs after half term as we had planned. We will review this should demand increase in future. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused , however we are unable to run the breakfast clubs if they are not financially viable.
Please read the letter below to find out about Class Dojo, a convenient new app which allows parents and carers to stay in touch with school, support children’s learning and receive home learning activities should they be needed. We will be in touch shortly to enable you to set up Class Dojo. We hope 100 % of parents /carers will sign up.
We have a vacancy for a temporary lunchtime supervisory assistant to start after half term on 2nd November 2020. If you are interested in this post please contact the school office for an application form or alternatively this can be emailed out to you.
The closing date for applications is Noon, Monday 19th October 2020. All applications should be fully supported with references and an enhanced DBS certificate will be requested. There will be an interview as part of the process, on Wednesday 21st October .

The application process for the Secondary Admissions 2021 Intake is due to begin on Monday 14 September 2020.
A copy of the preference letter is attached to the post below, and this preference letter will explain the application process to parents/carers. Pupils in Year 6 should have had a copy of this preference letter on Friday.
Parents can make their application for Secondary School online by visiting www.durham.gov.uk/schooladmissions and the School Admissions online application facility will be available to parents from Monday 14 September 2020.
The Closing Date for Secondary School Applications is Saturday 31 October 2020.
If parents do not wish to apply online they can complete a paper application form, and these are available to print from our website (same website address as above)
Alternatively these application forms can be requested by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone from the School Admissions and Transport Team on 03000 265 896. Copies of the Parent’s guide ‘Primary and Secondary School Admission Guide 2021/2022’ will also be available from our website or on request from Monday 14 September 2020.
Please note that any year 6 pupil who lives in another local authority but attend Bowburn Primary School, the parents should contact their Home Local Authority (i.e. the authority to which they pay their council tax) to request an application form, even if the parent would like to apply for a Secondary School in County Durham.
